As a cat owner for over two years, I’ve learned that finding reliable products that both you and your cat love can be a bit overwhelming. With the variety of different brands of food, litter, etc. it can be overwhelming to decide on which brand and product will be best for you and your kitty. I’m going to share some of my favorite products that I have found to be reliable over the last few years. Amazon has stayed true to help me supply my home with items that my cat loves.
From toys that keep her entertained for hours to essentials that simplify feeding, grooming, and health care, these are the must-have items that I rely on without hesitation. 1. Litter Genie
The top of the list for me is the Litter Genie. The Litter Genie is truly the biggest game changer when it comes to being a cat owner and cleaning your litter box. This is the most convenient and reliable option for scooping your litter especially if you like to scoop almost every day or every other day. With the Litter Genie, you are able to easily open up the trash compartment and scoop in. Afterwards, you close it up and set it aside until the next scooping. This allows you to easily scoop every day without the hassle of emptying into you trash can or individual trash bags every time.
When I first purchased the Litter Genie, I was skeptical that you would be able to smell everything by keeping it in there. You do not. It traps the odors inside so well and when you are ready empty, you simply cut the trash bag from inside and tie it up. The refills for these are extremely affordable and it’s a great way to keep your kitty’s litter box clean at all times without the hassle. I could not recommend a product more!

2. Stainless Steel Litter Box, Mat & Deodorizer
Staying on the theme for litter and litter boxes, stainless steel has shown to be the best option for a litter box. Compared to plastic litter boxes, stainless steel tend to hold less bacteria and in my opinion, hold less odor as well. I am a fan of the bigger litter boxes as well because even though your kitty might be small, it is better for them to have more space to do their business.
Along with the litter box, a litter mat outside of the box is a MUST. No matter what litter, my cat still tracks some litter around after using the litter box. A litter mat underneath is able to catch a lot of this tracking as soon as she gets out of the. litter box. These are so easy to shake off and clean to keep your area tidy around your little box. I also have found a deodorizer spray that I am a big fan of. After scooping and cleaning up the area, I always like to spray the litter box and around my space with this deodorizer to keep the odor masked and keep my space smelling clean.

3. Litter Box Enclosure-Perfect for Small Spaces
A litter box enclosure is one of the best items that I think a cat owner can purchase. Especially like me, who lives in a small space, this allows you to keep your space feeling decorated and keep your litter box hidden. Without this, an entire corner of my apartment would be dedicated to just seeing a litter box. I have also found that having an enclosure around the litter box helps to keep any odors trapped inside, keeping your space smelling fresh.
There are so many different options of these based on what you want your space to look like. I’ve included a few that I have looked through and wanted and also the one that I ended up purchasing.

4. Hidden Plant Litter Box
Similar to the litter box enclosures, the hidden plant litter box is a litter box shaped like an indoor house plant. In my last apartment, my roommate and I had this litter box sitting in our common area. I can’t tell you how many times people would never notice that it was a litter box until we mentioned it. This is another great option for small spaces or if you want to keep you space looking nice as well as functional for your kitty. This is also a great second litter box option, especially if you have more than one cat. This in combination with a bigger stainless steel litter box, we found to be a great combination when we were living with two cats in our space.

5. Cordless Vacuum
A cordless vacuum is so convenient for an easy clean up for any tracking litter. Having a cordless vacuum has allowed me to clean up and litter messes in minutes. This is a MUST have to keep handy.
6. Raised Cat Bowls
Raised cat bowls are such a great an option when deciding what to feed your furry friend with. The raised bowls are a posture-friendly option to decrease stress on your kitty’s neck while eating. Instead of reaching down lower for their food, they are comfortably able to eat with a higher platform.

7. Automatic Feeder with Camera
Purchasing an automatic cat feeder with a camera has been a game changer for me. As someone who works 9-5 in the office every day, this is such a great item to allow me to give my cat snacks throughout the day and check on her while I am working. It gives me that relief knowing that I have access to her dry food while I am not home.
This is also a great option for short trips. Although I do not recommend leaving your cat home for a long period of time and only relying on an automatic feeder, this is a great thing to have if you will be on a quick overnight or weekend trip. Sometimes it’s hard to find someone to feed your kitty for a night or two, so this is great to ensure that your cat is staying fed while you’re gone. There are even some options with two food bowls if you have two cats at home.

8. Cat Water Fountain
Cat water fountains are something that you should have accessible at all times for you kitty. Cats love running water and getting an automatic water fountain is a great way to keep your cat’s water fresh and running. You can fill these fountains up with a lot of water to ensure that your cat has enough water at all times. Stainless steel and ceramic fountains are the best bet because they do not hold as much bacteria as platic options.

9. Cat Beds, Houses & Scratch Posts
In my opinion, your cat can never have too many beds or scratchers. Especially as someone who works in the office all day every day, I like to make sure that my cat is entertained and cozy while I’m gone. If you have scratching options around your home, the less likely it will be that they use ay furniture as a scratcher. Some of my cat’s favorites scratchers and bed options are listed below.
10. Cat toys
There are so many varieties of cat toys depending on your cat’s personality and what they like to play with. My cat personally loves any time of string or spring toy that she can get her paws on. I’ve listed some of her favorite toys below to keep her entertained all day below.
